CW 44: Part article numbers

Written by Lena Riemensperger

One part, all its numbers: Parts now carry not only your own part number, but also the article number of each manufacturer and distributor. You see right away which number gets you the part from whom.

Your internal number, for example from your ERP material list, stays as it is. On top of that, you add the matching article number for each manufacturer and distributor, because the same part often goes by very different numbers at each of them. From now on, you have them all in one place.

When a part runs low, you no longer have to dig through lists, emails or old orders. The right number for your request is right at hand.

Search finds every number, for example when you pick parts in a work order. With import, you can update all article numbers in one go.

📣 Have you been using the reference number so far?

It stays visible, but you can no longer edit it. You can keep your data in two ways:

  • Download your parts through export and import them again with the reference number as the article number of the matching organization.

  • Or create a custom field for it in the part settings and then import your values into it.
