A Sub Work Order used to be a Work Order of its own, connected to the Main Work Order by nothing but that assignment. Based on your feedback it now models one operation on exactly one Asset within a Work Order.
A Sub Work Order covers one Asset, with its own dates, performing person, times, Parts and costs. You plan and evaluate each Asset on its own instead of bundling everything into one large Work Order. Rollup follows soon.
Create the first one from the three-dot menu. The Sub Work Order tab appears next for the rest. Fields come pre-filled from the Main Work Order and stay editable. The Main Work Order ID always precedes the Sub Work Order ID.
Important: Work Order overviews now hide Sub Work Orders, so your lists show fewer rows than before. Show Sub Work Orders in the overview's three-dot menu brings them back.
Related Work Orders connect two Work Orders without a hierarchy, for example a repair found during maintenance. You set the link in the sidebar and it shows on both.
