Related Work Orders connect two or more Work Orders without creating a parent/child relationship. This is useful, for example, when a repair results from a maintenance visit and you want to connect the two Work Orders content-wise, without either one becoming the Work Order of the other.
đĄ Note: Unlike a Sub Work Order, a Related Work Order doesn't automatically carry over details such as Asset, Organization, or Contact. Both Work Orders remain independent.

How to set up a Related Work Order
Open the Work Order you want to link to another one.
Set the link in the sidebar.
Select the Work Order you want to link to.
The link is then visible on both Work Orders.
FAQ
Does linking Work Orders carry over an Asset, Organization, or Contact? No. Unlike a Sub Work Order, there's no automatic inheritance â both Work Orders remain fully independent.
Can I link a Work Order to more than one other Work Order? Yes, you can link several Work Orders, if necessary.
Can I remove a link afterward? Yes, Related Work Orders can be disconnected by clicking on the three-dot-menu next to the Related Work Order. Alternatively, you can open the selection of the Related Work Orders and remove the checkmark.
What's the difference from a Sub Work Order? A Sub Work Order has a parent/child relationship to exactly one Work Order, applies to exactly one Asset, and inherits details from the Work Order. A Related Work Order connects two equal-standing, independent Work Orders without a parent/child relationship and without automatically inheriting details.
