Creating Inventories

Storage Locations are represented as Assets within Parts Management.

Detailed Asset management is essential for clear storage locations management. Before you start creating inventories, you should therefore check whether your Assets are structured appropriately.

We recommend using the Asset hierarchy, which allows Assets to be linked together in any number of levels and dependencies to be displayed.

These storage locations can be areas in a plant, for example, or individual shelves, spare parts boxes, or toolboxes.

You can read about how to create Assets here:

Creating Inventories

Once you have created a logical structure for your Assets and storage locations, you can create inventories.

  1. Select “Parts” in the main menu on the left

  2. Click on the corresponding spare part

  3. Click on the “+ Add” button in the top right corner

  4. Fill in the mandatory field Storage location in the pop-up window. Here you select the Asset where the inventory is stored

  5. Optional: Enter the initial quantity available in the inventory
