Setting the Procedure Type
Availability
Packages: Enterprise
User Roles: Admin, Manager
You can assign a type to a Procedure template that controls its role and sequence within a Work Order. The type is shown by a symbol in front of the ID, both in the template selection dialog and on the Work Order detail page.
Type | Use Case | Locking Behavior |
Safety Check | Safety verification before the actual work begins | Must be completed first, blocks all following Procedures; not editable after completion |
Maintenance | The actual maintenance or inspection work | Multiple Maintenance Procedures can be executed in parallel; editable again via Reopen after completion |
Validation | Final sign-off | Remains locked until all other Procedures are completed; locks the entire Work Order once completed |
To set the type:
Create a new Procedure template or open a existing one to edit it
Select the desired type in the "Type" field
Save the template
In the template selection dialog, you can then filter by type to find Safety Check, Maintenance, or Validation templates specifically.
💡Note: Ad-hoc Procedures are always of type Maintenance.
