CW 34: Create Maintenance Plans via import

Written by Lena Riemensperger

Maintenance Plans can now be created through the import wizard — many at once, instead of one at a time manually.

Until now you built every Maintenance Plan by hand: transferring intervals from manuals, old spreadsheets, or tribal knowledge, plan by plan. Without an import function, rolling out a new location entails several hours or even days of work.

Now you select "Maintenance Plan" as the model in the importer, download the template (DE/EN), fill it in and upload it. Columns are matched by header name, so the order doesn't matter.

Before anything is created, a preview shows every problem row: unresolved serial numbers, email addresses, external references, groups, or invalid and past start dates. Plans are only created once every row is clean — fully, or not at all.

Re-uploading the same file skips plans that already exist. No duplicates.

The import creates new Maintenance Plans; it does not update existing ones.
